The reason for the lack of recent posts is due to my finally quitting the shitty job I had and getting an awesome new job in a super-classy hotel. I haven’t been able to cook much since today is my 7th day of work in a row. The hotel I work at has an employee cafeteria with a really nice salad bar (3 kinds of olives, raisins, artichoke hearts, etc.), so basically I’ve been living off leftover rice and beans, with a salad on the side.
The great thing about this new job is that I’m making $1.50 more an hour than I was at the old shitty job. Also, instead of spending 3 hours in transit everyday, I can walk to work in 15 minutes.
I’m off tomorrow and Wednesday, and *might* be off Tuesday, so look for some food posts in the coming days. I spent nearly $100 on food yesterday morning, $20 of which was spent at the local tailgate market. I scored a bunch of great produce: blueberries, bi-color corn, okra, green beans, tomatoes, kale, peppers, spaghetti squash, and pattypan squash.
I’m also going to be cooking a lot from Veganomicon this week so I can share some of that great book’s recipes with y’all.
